Manchester Harbor Festival by the Sea ~ 3 August ~ on a beautifully calm day

The day started with the lowest tide in months. Not much sunshine but as the vendors arrived things grew brighter and the Sun has given way to another beautiful day on the Harbor.

The Public visitors docks at Reed Park were full by 10 am, but the movement has allowed for boats to come and go. The Coast Guard Rescue boat is at the dock also and open for tours. The Harbormaster is is one busy guy today with all the traffic, but it is all flowing smootly.

The Festival by the Sea started with vendors arriving as early as 6:30 this morning and now in full swing music, fun, food and amazing crafts from all over New England, started at 10 am and goes til 6 pm and perhaps beyond. Who knows! When the people start to dance when will they stop. Hopefully after sundown! : -)

I walked only Reed Park so far but will visit the other 2 parks shortly. I have been to hundreds of fairs and festivals all over the world and I can say I have seen jewelry nd crafts I have never seen before. Truly unique I am pleased to report. I thought well another ho-hum fair, not in Manchester by the Sea. A truly unique place bring unique crafts because of the great vibe, uniqueness and beauty of the town. It’s a great energy match after the Black New Moon a few days ago.

The harbor is beautifully calm with a slight breeze out fo the Southwest. Well I’m off to get some more photos and I will will be posting many more and some videos including the whale watching up close and friendly i’ve done in the past 2 weeks from my Jew Ski out at Stellwagen Bank with the 100+ feet Whale Watching boats from Gloucester and the New England Aquarium.

Oh yeah keep an eye out for the NEW Manchester by the Sea Store coming soon. Chalk full of the best of Manchester by the Sea’s beauty captured in clothing, art, glassware and other gift related items including jewelry with gems faceted for the shores of Manchester’s rugged and beautiful seacoast.

More Images and videos of the Harbor, Sea and the Islands will be posted here daily and on the Newest Facebook group in Manchester by the Sea ~

The morning still, the tide is extremely low from the Black New Moon… but lower tomorrow

Sitting overlooking the harbor compelled to grab my camera I was forced by the pull of the still beauty, the low tide wondering what has been hidden below the harbors waters I haven’t yet seen. What new treasures have found it’s way to the otherwise hidden harbors bottom ever present?

A curiosity not to miss the tide added a swiftness to my step as I grabbed my organic English Breakfast tea, always double bags for a quick burst of subtle energy and headed down the stairs.

Ahhh the harbor… once again presents yet another new spectacular day. No two are ever the same and perhaps that is why I often see people walking and driving to ‘spin’ the beach or ‘spin’ the park for yet another charge of beauty and see anew the day that has been gifted them.

August 1st on the Harbor

The day started quiet. The Intuition usually leaves in the earliest of the dawn to head out to their fishing grounds. They have been at for 3 weeks straight, perhaps more! They surely have earned a day off. As the days passed they came in earlier and earlier with a full boatload of fish. A good sign things have been good for them.

The 2 rowers that I see every morning in their Gloucester dories rowed into the new pier as they have most mornings. The harbor was like glass and their wake as they came in at a racers speed broke the mirror imaging of all the boats in the harbor. I saw them one morning rowing between the 2 Ram Islands on my way out to Stellwagen Bank on my wave runner. I have yet to catch up with them to find out where they are rowing from. Perhaps Gloucester every morning.

Early afternoon today the Schooner Fame from Salem motored into the Reed Park pier and seemed to take up almost half of the new section. Certainly oversized and fit the comment I made in the local group FB pages of Manchester the what when where and how of the boats getting bigger that are visiting the harbor and new pier everyday.

The month of July just over was one of the Best July’s on record as far as beautiful Summer days for all. Into August we go.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
